A Regina homewares store has a return policy of 212 words. It says returns are accepted "within a reasonable time" for "items in good condition" and that refunds are "processed promptly". A customer returns a C$74 lamp after 38 days, the store declines, and the customer disputes the charge as credit not processed. The store's reply quotes the policy. The reviewer reads it and finds no number, no start date and no rule about who pays for the return. The store loses the dispute, the lamp and the C$15 fee. Return policy chargebacks in Canada are often decided by one question: could a stranger read your policy and tell what should have happened? This guide shows how to write terms that answer that question, how to set Shopify's return rules so they match, how to keep dated proof and what to expect when a buyer cites provincial consumer rights.
Quick answer: A return policy that holds up against return policy chargebacks has specific numbers, a clear start date, a stated refund method and timing, a rule on who pays return shipping and a list of items that cannot be returned. In Shopify, set the return window, starting point, return shipping, restocking fee and final sale items under Settings, then Policies, and write the matching written policy so the two agree. Save a dated copy every time either changes. Shopify's evidence lists treat the policy as the third layer after direct proof and acknowledgment, so pair it with refund records, return tracking and customer messages.
This guide is for you if:
- You sell on Shopify in Canada and have lost or nearly lost a dispute over a return or refund.
- Your policy uses words like "reasonable" or "promptly" and you want specific wording.
- You want settings, a policy template and a dated-copy routine you can finish in an afternoon.

Disclosure: ChargeFix publishes this guide and sells an app that helps with Shopify Payments disputes. The Shopify rules come from Shopify's Help Center, and the provincial consumer rights come from the Quebec consumer protection office and an Ontario legal education page, all listed at the end. This guide is general information and not legal advice. Where a source does not say, this guide says so rather than guess.
TL;DR
- Return policy chargebacks shrink when you use numbers, not adjectives: a return window in days, a start date, a refund deadline in business days.
- Shopify keeps two things you must align: structured return rules and the written return and refund policy.
- Shopify's template for the written policy does not include your configured return rules, so check them side by side.
- A rule change reaches future orders only, so save a dated copy each time you change anything.
- Quebec and Ontario sources list cancellation rights tied to missing information or late delivery. Neither page promises a general right of return.
Do this today
- Open Settings, then Policies, and note your current return window, starting point and return shipping rule.
- Read your written return and refund policy and underline every vague word.
- Replace each vague word with a number, a date or a named rule.
- Save a dated PDF of the final policy and the settings screen.
- Add a one line "last changed" date to the policy page.
Return policy chargebacks in Canada: the process in one table
| Step | What you do | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Read the dispute | Reason, amount, order, due date | The window is usually 7 to 21 days, with no extensions |
| 2. Find the policy in force | The version on the order date | Terms change over time |
| 3. Pull the refund record | Admin refund or proof none is owed | Direct proof for credit not processed |
| 4. Pull return tracking | When the return was sent and received | Shows timing against the window |
| 5. Gather messages | Emails about the return | Acknowledgment |
| 6. Decide | Fight, refund or concede | No refund is possible once a chargeback begins |
| 7. Build and file | Strongest proof first, policy attached | The policy is the third layer, not the first |
Why do return policy chargebacks happen?
Most disputes about returns trace back to a gap between what the buyer believed and what the store did. The gap opens where the policy is silent or vague.
| Gap | What the buyer believes | What the store does | Dispute |
|---|---|---|---|
| No start date | The window starts when they decide | The window starts at delivery | Credit not processed |
| No refund timing | The refund is instant | The refund follows inspection | Credit not processed |
| Unclear shipping cost | Return is free | Buyer pays the label | Credit not processed |
| Vague condition rules | Worn items are fine | Store refuses | Credit not processed or product unacceptable |
| Hidden final sale | Everything is returnable | Clearance is not | Credit not processed |
| Silent on store credit | A refund to the card | Store offers credit | Credit not processed |
| Unclear cancellation rules | Orders can be cancelled any time | Order has shipped | Cancelled order |
Each row can be closed by a sentence with a number in it. Return policy chargebacks drop when the policy removes guesses.
What does Shopify let you set to prevent return policy chargebacks?
Shopify's page on return rules and return policy lists the structured settings. They sit in Settings, then Policies, under Return and cancellation rules, and the written policy sits in the Written policies section.
| Setting | Options | Why it matters in a dispute |
|---|---|---|
| Return window | 14 days, 30 days, 90 days, unlimited or custom days | A number a reviewer can check |
| Starting from | Item's delivery or delivery of last item in order | Removes the start date argument |
| Extend for weekends or holidays | On or off | Rolls the window to the next business day |
| Return shipping | Free, flat rate per return or customer-purchased label | Removes the shipping cost argument |
| Restocking fee | A percentage, deducted manually | Not applied automatically |
| Final sale items | By specific collections or specific products | Names what cannot be returned |
| Return window override | By collection or product, shortest window wins | Different rules for different goods |
| Cancellation rules | No cancellations, until item is fulfilled, 15 minutes, 1 hour or 24 hours | Names how long a buyer can cancel |
Shopify says changes apply only to future orders. It also says you cannot mix products and collections in the final sale list and that bundles cannot be final sale.
How do you write a written policy that prevents return policy chargebacks?
Shopify's page says to open Return and refund policy in the Written policies section, type your policy or click Insert template and save to publish. The template is available only in English for English-language checkouts, and it leaves out the return rules you configured. A second Shopify page adds that you can turn on an automated policy for return and refund, terms of service, shipping and contact information, in which case Shopify generates the text from your store settings and keeps it updated. Turning on automation replaces custom text, so save a copy first.
| Option | What it does | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Automated policy | Shopify generates text from your settings and keeps it updated | Less control over wording; replaces custom text |
| Manual policy | You write or edit it, with HTML or the rich text editor | You must keep it in step with the settings |
| Insert template | A starting text for policies without automation | Leaves out your return rules |
Whichever route you choose, read the final text next to the settings screen. If the settings say 30 days from delivery and the text says 14 days from purchase, a reviewer will notice, and the buyer's reading may win.
Which words make return policy chargebacks more likely?
Vague words invite the buyer's reading. Replace them.
| Weak wording | Why it fails | Stronger wording |
|---|---|---|
| "within a reasonable time" | No number | "within 30 days of delivery" |
| "in good condition" | Undefined | "unworn, unwashed, with tags attached" |
| "processed promptly" | No deadline | "refunded within 3 business days of receiving your return" |
| "at our discretion" | Looks arbitrary | State the cases where you decline |
| "may be charged a fee" | Unclear | "a 15 percent restocking fee on non-defective returns" |
| "return shipping applies" | Who pays? | "you buy the return label" or "we email a prepaid label" |
| "final sale items" | Which? | "items in the Clearance collection, marked at checkout" |
If you cannot put a number in a sentence, ask whether you have actually decided the rule. A policy is a set of decisions written down.
What does a clear policy look like when return policy chargebacks are the risk?
Below is a template to adapt. It uses numbers in every clause and names the start date.
Return and refund policy (adapt to your store)
Last changed: [date]
1. Returns window. You can return most items within [30] days of
delivery. The [30] days start on the day Canada Post or our carrier
records delivery. If a holiday or weekend falls on the last day, the
window extends to the next business day.
2. Condition. Items must be unused, unwashed and in original packaging
with tags attached.
3. Final sale. Items in the [Clearance] collection and items marked
"final sale" at checkout cannot be returned.
4. How to start. Go to [web address] or email [address] with your order
number. We reply within [1] business day.
5. Return shipping. [We email a prepaid label / You buy a tracked label /
A flat fee of C$[amount] is deducted from your refund].
6. Restocking fee. [None / [15] percent on non-defective returns].
7. Refunds. We refund to the original payment method within [3] business
days of receiving your return and email you when it is done. Your bank
may take additional time to show the credit.
8. Damaged or wrong items. Email photos within [7] days of delivery and we
will [replace or refund] at no cost to you.
9. Exchanges and store credit. [Describe].
10. Cancellations. You can cancel [until the order is fulfilled / within
[1] hour]. After that, use the returns process above.
State whatever you actually do. Return policy chargebacks start where the page is silent. If you offer more than the template, say so. If you offer less, say that too. The point is that a stranger can answer, from the page, every question a dispute might ask.
How do you keep policy and settings in step to avoid return policy chargebacks?
Two places hold your rules, and they drift. A short monthly check closes the gap.
| Check | Where | What to compare |
|---|---|---|
| Return window days | Settings, then Policies, return rules vs written policy | Same number |
| Starting point | Same | Delivery vs purchase |
| Return shipping | Same | Who pays |
| Restocking fee | Same | Same percentage, and a manual deduction note |
| Final sale list | Rules vs written policy vs product pages | Same items |
| Cancellation window | Rules vs written policy | Same limit |
| Language | Policy in each language you sell in | Same meaning |
Shopify says the return policy appears in the checkout footer once saved, and also on the order review page, and that the shipping policy appears on product pages and in the cart. A buyer therefore sees these pages at purchase, which is useful evidence if you can show what they said on the order date.
How do you prove what your policy said on the order date in return policy chargebacks?
Shopify keeps past policy versions for 2 years, according to its page on store policies, but you should keep your own copies. A reviewer wants the version in force when the order was placed, not today's version.
Policy change log (keep one row per change)
Date changed: __________ Changed by: __________
What changed: [e.g. window 14 to 30 days; added restocking fee 15%]
Orders affected from: [date and time]
Files saved: policy PDF [file name], settings screenshot [file name]
Customers told by: [site banner / email / none]
| Habit | How | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Dated PDF of each policy | Print the page to PDF on the day | A reviewer can read it |
| Screenshot of the settings | Capture the return rules screen | Matches the written text |
| One log row per change | Use the template above | Shows when each version applied |
| A "last changed" line | On the policy page | Lets the buyer see it too |
A change never reaches orders already placed, which matches how a reviewer thinks: an order placed under version 3 is judged by version 3.
What does Shopify say about policies as evidence in return policy chargebacks?
Shopify's suggested order for evidence is direct proof, acknowledgment, policy and context. The policy sits third, which tells you how much weight it carries by itself: some, but less than a refund record or a delivery confirmation. Its evidence lists mention policies for several reasons.
| Dispute reason | Policy Shopify lists |
|---|---|
| Credit not processed | Refund policy |
| Product unacceptable | Return policy |
| Subscription canceled | Cancellation policy |
| Product not received | Shipping policy (Shopify Payments may include it automatically) |
| General | Pricing policy |
For credit not processed, Shopify's list is the refund transaction record, a bank or processor statement, your refund policy, customer communications and return tracking. It also says that if you do owe a refund, you should issue it from the Shopify admin, even though you may still lose the chargeback. That advice makes a point about policy: a good policy helps you decline cases that break it, and it does not protect a refund you owe.
How do you answer return policy chargebacks?
Lead with the refund record if you refunded, or with the return record and the dated policy if you did not owe one.
Draft reply to a return policy dispute (adapt to your case)
Order #[number], placed [date] for C$[amount].
Summary
The customer returned the item on [date], [number] days after delivery on
[date]. Our policy in force on the order date allows returns within [30]
days of delivery (version dated [date], attached). We declined the refund
on [date] and emailed the customer the same day with the policy clause
and the dates. [Alternatively: We refunded C$[amount] on [date].]
1. Return and delivery dates
Carrier tracking for the original parcel and the return (file 1).
2. Policy in force
Dated PDF of the return policy and the settings screen (file 2).
3. Messages
Emails with the customer, including our decline (file 3).
4. Refund record, if issued
Admin refund record (file 4).
Write only what the files show. If the policy changed after the order, say which version applies and show the change log row. If the return arrived inside the window and you did not refund, you probably owe the refund, so fix it rather than fight.
What if the buyer cites provincial consumer rights in return policy chargebacks?
Two sources show how provincial rights can enter a dispute, and both are narrow. The Quebec consumer protection office lists situations in which a consumer can cancel a distance purchase: goods or services not received (delivery must happen within 30 days of the agreed date), a contract not sent within 15 days of purchase, or missing or unclear information, with 7 days from receipt of the contract or item. The merchant has 15 days after the cancellation notice to reimburse and covers reasonable return fees. The office also lists what a merchant must show before purchase, including cancellation, return, exchange and refund conditions. That page was updated on 5 October 2026.
A legal education page for Ontario, last modified in January 2025, describes a seven day cancellation right after receiving a copy of the agreement if required information was missing, a 30 day right for internet orders where the copy or information was missing and no deadline where the seller is more than 30 days late. It says the seller has 15 days after the cancellation notice to refund.
| Province | Trigger | Right described | Refund timing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quebec | Missing or unclear information | Cancel within 7 days of receipt | Merchant refunds within 15 days |
| Quebec | Goods not received on time | Cancel | Merchant refunds within 15 days |
| Ontario | Required information missing | Cancel within 7 days after receiving the agreement | Seller refunds within 15 days |
| Ontario | Internet order, copy or information missing | Cancel within 30 days | Seller refunds within 15 days |
| Ontario | Seller more than 30 days late | Cancel, no deadline | Seller refunds within 15 days |
Neither source gives buyers a blanket right to return goods that simply do not suit them, and no source we read covers other provinces. The Ontario page is older, so check the current rules. This is not legal advice. The practical lesson for return policy chargebacks is that clear disclosure of your cancellation, return and refund conditions before purchase reduces the chance that a provincial right applies at all. Our Quebec guide covers the French language side.
What should your policy say about cancellations to prevent return policy chargebacks?
Cancelled orders cause their own disputes. Shopify's return rules let you choose a cancellation window: no cancellations, until the item is fulfilled, or a fixed 15 minute, 1 hour or 24 hour window. Pick one, and write it in the policy.
| Cancellation setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| No cancellations | Fewest changes; may frustrate buyers |
| Until fulfilled | Buyer can cancel until you ship |
| A fixed 15 minute, 1 hour or 24 hour window | Counted from the order |
Whatever you choose, confirm cancellations by email the same day, with the amount and the card. A refund after cancellation is the most common credit not processed dispute we see in practice, and the confirmation email is what ends it. Our cancelled order guide covers the details.
What evidence helps overall in return policy chargebacks?
Think in layers. Shopify's suggested order is direct proof, acknowledgment, policy, then context.
| Layer | Evidence | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Direct proof | Refund record, if refunded | The credit was issued |
| Direct proof | Return and delivery tracking | When items moved |
| Acknowledgment | Customer emails, your decline or refund email | The buyer engaged |
| Policy | Dated policy PDF and settings screenshot | The terms in force |
| Context | Listing and checkout screenshots | What the buyer saw |
| Context | Earlier orders by the same buyer | An established customer |
Shopify Payments includes some evidence on its own when available: product details, customer name and email, billing and shipping addresses, IP address, fulfilment and tracking details, refunds and prior undisputed orders, and policies depending on the dispute type. You add the dated policy, the log and the messages. Files go in as PDF, JPEG or PNG, 2 MB each and 4 MB combined, one per evidence type, with no links.
Is it worth fighting? A worked example in C$
Take the Regina lamp at C$74.00. Case A: the store had a specific policy (30 days from delivery), a dated copy, tracking showing the return was sent on day 38 and an email declining the refund the day the parcel arrived. Case B: the store had the vague policy and no dated copy.
Case A: specific policy, dated copy, dates and decline email on file
Disputed amount = A = C$74.00
Fee = F = C$15.00 (returned only on a win)
Your time = T = 30 minutes, call it C$15
Chance of winning = c = 0.60 (illustrative)
Concede: A + F = C$89.00
Fight: (1 minus c) x 89 + 15 = 0.40 x 89 + 15 = C$50.60
50.60 < 89.00, so fight.
Case B: vague policy, no dated copy
Chance of winning = c = 0.15 (illustrative)
Fight: 0.85 x 89 + 15 = C$90.65
90.65 > 89.00, so concede, and rewrite the policy.
The win chances for these return policy chargebacks are illustrative, not Canadian statistics. We found no published Canadian win rate for return policy disputes, so use your own history. The comparison shows what a specific, dated policy is worth: on a small order it turns a likely loss into a reasonable fight.
Which return policy chargebacks are worth fighting?
| Case | Likely strength | Move |
|---|---|---|
| Return after the window, policy specific and dated, dates logged | Reasonable to strong | Fight, lead with dates and policy |
| Refund issued and shown | Strong | Fight, lead with the refund record |
| Return inside the window, refund not issued | Not a fight | Refund now |
| Vague policy, no dated copy | Weak | Concede, then rewrite |
| Final sale item clearly marked at checkout | Reasonable | Fight, show the marking and the policy |
| Buyer cites missing information in a province with cancellation rights | Weak | Refund if still an inquiry, fix disclosure |
| Restocking fee deducted as stated | Reasonable | Fight, show the fee clause and the deduction |
If you owe the refund, issue it from the admin. Shopify says you can refund while a case is an inquiry, and a full refund on an inquiry blocks a chargeback. After a chargeback begins, no refund is possible.
How does ChargeFix help with return policy chargebacks?
Return policy chargebacks are a records problem with a deadline. The refund record, the return tracking, the dated policy and the messages live in different places. ChargeFix is built for Shopify Payments disputes.
- Dispute fetched. ChargeFix fetches the chargeback when it opens.
- Records read. It reads the order, addresses, fulfilment and tracking data and the refund history.
- Evidence scored. It flags what is present and what is missing, such as no refund record or no tracking, and gives a plain verdict: worth fighting, improve the evidence first or weak evidence.
- Letter from facts. The response is drafted only from verified facts, so it will not quote a policy clause your records do not show.
- Your choice of mode. ChargeFix prepares each response in Manual mode, which is the default. You review and file it, or let Auto mode handle them. Auto mode is on Starter plans and above, off until you turn it on and confirm.
ChargeFix handles Shopify Payments disputes only. It cannot promise a win, because the card company decides, and it does not write your policy or give legal advice. It stores minimal data: case ID, amount, reason, status, dates and shop settings. The free plan includes 2 filings a month, and every paid plan starts with a 14 day free trial.
What does a dated plan for a return policy chargeback look like?
This plan for return policy chargebacks assumes the shortest window, 7 days.
| Day | What you do | Done when |
|---|---|---|
| Day 0 | Dispute opens. Note amount, order and due date. | You know the deadline |
| Day 1 | Open the order, find the policy version in force, read messages | Story written down |
| Day 2 | Pull refund record and return tracking | Direct proof ready |
| Day 3 | Pull dated policy PDF, settings screenshot and change log row | Policy proof ready |
| Day 4 | Decide: fight, refund or concede | Decision written down |
| Day 5 | Draft the response, strongest proof first | Every claim points to a file |
| Day 6 | Check file sizes and readability, then file | Confirmation shows in admin |
| Day 7 | Spare day | Nothing left to do |
| Up to 75 days later | Decision arrives | Note what mattered |
If the buyer agrees the charge was valid, ask them to request a withdrawal through their bank. The letter must be on bank letterhead and can take 30 to 90 days. Shopify cannot request early resolution for American Express disputes or Visa disputes with a Fraudulent reason code, so file your evidence without waiting.
How do you rewrite your policy in one afternoon to cut return policy chargebacks?
- Open both screens. Settings, then Policies, return rules and written policy.
- List every vague word. Replace each with a number or a named rule.
- Align the settings. Window, start point, shipping, fee and final sale.
- Add a "last changed" line. On the policy page.
- Save dated copies. PDF of the text and a screenshot of the settings.
- Tell customers. A banner or an email if the change is significant.
- Log the change. One row, with the time it applies from.
| Task | Time | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Replace vague words | 45 minutes | No guessing |
| Align settings and text | 30 minutes | No drift |
| Save dated copies | 15 minutes | Proof of the version in force |
| Log the change | 5 minutes | A clean timeline |
| Monthly check | 15 minutes | No new drift |
How do you test a policy before return policy chargebacks test it for you?
Ask ten questions of the page. If any answer is not on the page, fix the page.
| Question | Where the answer should be |
|---|---|
| How many days do I have? | Window clause |
| When does the clock start? | Start date clause |
| What condition must the item be in? | Condition clause |
| Who pays return shipping? | Shipping clause |
| Is there a fee? | Restocking clause |
| Which items cannot be returned? | Final sale clause |
| How do I start a return? | How to start clause |
| When do I get my money, and how? | Refund clause |
| What if it arrives damaged? | Damage clause |
| Can I cancel an order? | Cancellation clause |
Ask a friend who has never seen the page to answer them. Their wrong answers show where a buyer will go wrong.
What is different about return policy chargebacks in Canada?
| Topic | What applies in Canada | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Fee | C$15 or US$15 by payout currency | Cost each case in your payout currency |
| Response window | 7 to 21 days, no extensions | Plan for the shortest |
| Card company decision | Up to 75 days after you submit, and final | Do not expect a quick answer |
| Delivery proof | Canada Post confirmation online for 45 days after delivery | Download it early |
| Shopify Protect | US stores only | It does not cover Canadian stores |
| Complaints | Shopify Payments (Canada) acknowledges within 5 business days, decides in writing within 45 days | Raise a complaint with your processor first |
Policies in more than one language. Shopify's return policy template is available only in English for English-language checkouts. If you sell in French, write the French policy yourself and keep it in step. Our Quebec guide covers the language rules we found.
Consumer law. Consumer protection law differs by province. The Quebec and Ontario sources describe cancellation rights tied to missing information and late delivery, and neither page promises a general right of return. Other provinces are not covered by anything we read, so this guide states none.
Legal templates. Shopify's page says its policy templates are informational, are not legal advice and do not guarantee compliance. It also says you may need extra disclosures for auto-renewing subscriptions, regulated products or market-specific rules.
Where to complain. Shopify Payments (Canada) acknowledges a complaint within 5 business days and gives a final written decision within 45 days. The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada supervises the Code of Conduct for the Credit and Debit Card Industry in Canada but does not decide individual disputes.
What are the 10 mistakes to avoid with return policy chargebacks?
- Vague words in the policy. "Reasonable" and "promptly" give no answer.
- Policy and settings that disagree. A reviewer will notice.
- No start date. The buyer's reading wins.
- No dated copy. You cannot show the version in force.
- Changing rules and forgetting the log. An old order keeps the old rules.
- Forgetting the restocking fee is manual. Deduct it and record it.
- Holding a refund you owe. Issue it from the admin.
- Refunding after the chargeback began. Shopify does not allow it.
- Attaching links. Links are not allowed. Save pages as PDF.
- Missing the window. There are no extensions, and the fee is not refunded.
Frequently asked questions
What are return policy chargebacks?
They are card disputes that turn on a return or refund, usually credit not processed or product unacceptable. They happen when the policy is vague, the refund is slow or the buyer's expectations differ from the store's practice. A specific, dated policy plus refund and return records answers most of them.
What should a return policy include?
A return window in days, the date it starts, item condition, who pays return shipping, any restocking fee, a list of non-returnable items, how to start a return, when and how the refund is paid, what happens if an item arrives damaged and how cancellations work. Use numbers, not adjectives.
Do I have to use Shopify's policy template?
No. Shopify's page says you can type your own policy or insert a template, and the template leaves out the return rules you set. You can also turn on an automated policy, which replaces custom text, so save a copy first. Whichever you use, make it agree with your settings so return policy chargebacks have less to feed on.
How do I prove what my policy said when the order was placed?
Keep a dated PDF of each version and a screenshot of the return rules screen, and log each change with the time it applies from. Shopify keeps past policy versions for 2 years, but keep your own copies too. Orders already placed keep the version that applied to them.
Can I refuse a return after the window?
You can if your policy states the window and the start date clearly and you can show the dates. Lead with return tracking and the dated policy. If the return arrived inside the window, you probably owe the refund, so issue it rather than fight.
Can I refund after a dispute opens?
You can refund while it is an inquiry, and a full refund on an inquiry blocks a chargeback. A partial refund does not. Once a chargeback begins, Shopify does not allow a refund, and the buyer can ask their bank for a withdrawal letter, which can take 30 to 90 days.
Do Canadians have a right to return online purchases?
The sources we read describe cancellation rights in Quebec and Ontario only in particular situations, such as missing information or late delivery, and neither page promises a right to send back goods that do not suit the buyer. Nothing we read covers other provinces. Publish clear terms and ask an adviser if you need certainty.
How long should refunds take?
Set your own deadline and state it, such as three business days from receiving the return. Quebec's consumer protection office gives merchants 15 days to reimburse after a valid cancellation notice, and the Ontario page gives sellers 15 days. We found no bank timing source, so this guide states none.
Is it worth fighting small return policy chargebacks?
Compare the cost of conceding, the amount plus the C$15 fee, with the expected cost of fighting, including your time. With a specific dated policy and clear dates, fighting often pays. With a vague policy and no records, a refund and a rewrite are usually cheaper.
How does ChargeFix help with return policy chargebacks?
ChargeFix reads the order, addresses, tracking and refund data, flags missing proof and drafts the letter from verified facts. It does not write your policy or give legal advice. In Manual mode, the default, you check each draft and file it yourself. Auto mode is on Starter plans and above.
Start free trial with ChargeFix
You now have a policy template for return policy chargebacks, a settings checklist, a change log and a reply template. What most stores lack is the time to find the refund record, the return tracking and the dated policy before the deadline. ChargeFix reads your Shopify order data, shows what is missing, writes the letter from verified facts and leaves the filing to you in Manual mode, with Auto mode there for the cases your own rules cover.
The free plan includes 2 filings every month, and every paid plan starts with a 14 day free trial. There is no cut of what you win, and no contract.
