Visa VAMP Ratio Calculator

Visa's Acquirer Monitoring Program counts fraud reports and disputes together against your card-not-present sales. See where you stand against the merchant threshold.

Watch zone

Below the threshold, but inside the range merchants usually treat as an early warning. Look at what is driving disputes.

Ratio = (fraud reports + disputes) ÷ card-not-present sales. Fraud reports usually also become disputes, so one bad order can count twice. Winning a dispute does not remove it from the count.

How it works

  1. VAMP ratio = (fraud reports + disputes) ÷ settled card-not-present sales.
  2. Since 1 April 2026 the merchant 'excessive' line is 1.5% in most regions (2.2% in Central Europe, Middle East and Africa), and it applies once you reach 1,500 combined events in a month.
  3. We also show how many more events you can take this month before reaching the line.

Questions

Does this apply to Shopify Payments merchants?

The program is run between Visa and payment providers. Shopify Payments merchants are monitored through Shopify, who may contact you if your account is at risk. Keeping your ratio low protects your account either way.

What are TC40 and TC15?

TC40 is a fraud report sent by a card issuer. TC15 is a dispute record. You may not see these labels in Shopify, so use your fraud-coded disputes for TC40 and all Visa disputes for TC15.

Rules change. How current is this?

The thresholds above reflect Visa's published changes effective April 2026. Card networks update programs often, so confirm with your payment provider.
